About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established Value-Added Reseller (VAR), is seeking a Senior Architect to design, lead, and support strategic technology solutions for enterprise customers. This individual will play a key role in developing and delivering architectural designs across data center, campus, and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert for internal stakeholders, partners, and customers—bringing strong technical leadership, a consultative mindset, and an eye for innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Solution Design
- Develop infrastructure solutions—including data center, campus, and cloud—aligned to the client’s goals and industry best practices.
- Create and validate accurate bills of materials (BOMs) including licensing, hardware, and connectivity components.
- Deliver vendor-agnostic solutions that integrate with new or existing environments.
- Draft clear and complete Statements of Work (SOWs) and Level of Effort (LOE) documents.
- Lead and support Proof of Concept (POC) deployments for internal and client review.
Thought Leadership & Strategy
- Contribute to strategic planning and development of new service offerings based on market trends and customer needs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and methodologies through conferences, professional networks, and ongoing research.
Post-Sale Support & Collaboration
- Work closely with the PMO and delivery teams to ensure smooth handoffs post-sale, including providing key technical insights gathered during pre-sales.
- Provide hands-on delivery support as needed and participate in project closeout and retrospective discussions.
Additional Areas of Impact
- Project Delivery: Assist with project execution in line with established standards and best practices.
- Marketing & Events: Support technical marketing efforts, campaign guidance, and industry event participation.
- Training & Partnerships: Help develop internal training for sales and delivery teams; foster and expand partner relationships.
Qualifications
Education:
- Associate’s degree or higher
Experience:
- 15+ years in IT, with at least 10 in data center/cloud environments
- 3+ years in a lead, consulting, or management capacity
Technical Skills:
- Expert-level understanding of infrastructure architecture across compute, storage, messaging, and cloud platforms
- Hands-on experience with tools for implementation, monitoring, and documentation
- Familiarity with disaster recovery, business continuity, and SOP documentation
- Working knowledge of load balancers and application delivery controllers
- Demonstrated ability to assess and optimize environments with hundreds or thousands of devices
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication, presentation, and analytical abilities
- Self-starter who is adaptable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Proven ability to collaborate across teams and interface with clients
- Passion for learning and applying emerging technologies
Certifications (Required):
- Professional-level certifications related to data center or cloud, such as:
- VMware Certified Professional
- Microsoft Certified Specialist/Expert
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Engineer
- Equivalent industry credentials
