Job Overview:
The Business Development Representative (BDR) will play a crucial role in expanding the company’s business by identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities. This position involves generating leads, nurturing relationships, and collaborating with the sales team to convert prospects into clients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, excellent communication skills, and a strong ability to build and maintain client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Generation:
- Identify potential clients through research, networking, and market analysis.
- Utilize various channels (cold calling, email campaigns, social media, etc.) to generate new business leads.
- Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads.
- Prospect Engagement:
- Conduct outreach to prospective clients to introduce our products and services.
- Schedule meetings, presentations, and demonstrations for our account managers and engineers to showcase our solutions.
- Understand client needs and tailor audiences to meet their specific requirements.
- Relationship Building:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing insights and recommendations on IT solutions.
- Follow up regularly with leads and clients to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the sales, marketing, and technical teams to develop effective strategies for lead generation and conversion.
- Provide feedback to the team on market trends, client needs, and competitive landscape.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, quotes, and presentations.
- Sales Reporting:
- Track and report on sales activities, pipeline status, and conversion metrics.
- Use CRM software to maintain accurate records of client interactions and sales progress.
- Prepare regular reports for management on business development efforts and results.
- Market Awareness:
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and generate leads.
- Continuously improve product knowledge and sales skills through training and professional development.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in sales, business development, or a related role, preferably within the IT industry.
- Strong understanding of IT products, services, and market dynamics.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to generate leads and close sales.
- Highly motivated, self-driven, and results oriented.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a Value Added Reseller (VAR) environment.
- Knowledge of current trends in IT infrastructure, cloud services, cybersecurity, and other relevant areas.
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in business, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in sales or business development (e.g., CPSP, CISP).
Environment: Hybrid: 2-3 days in the office
Compensation: Base salary: $40,000 – $50,000, commission eligible
